Just a question regarding instruments-- if a player has 'guitar' listed, does that include both electric and acoustic variants? Similarly, what about the piano vs. keyboard/synthesizer divide, since they ultimately are the same basic kind of instrument, but the latter is electronic and provides a much greater variety of sounds.

Also, what of instruments like the violin or other strings for experimental rock or other genres? I know they're generally seen as classical instruments, but there's a number of electronica and rock songs that utilize strings in their composition, and a number of artists who have built their reputation on playing these instruments in modern genres.
